The spring and summer terms were some of our busiest delivering training courses for professionals, programmes with children, parents and carers. We’ve made progress on our animation project in collaboration with Leeds University and have being commissioned by HCC to develop and pilot a new PBs Ante-natal programme! More details below….
We ran 10 Level 1 (Foundation), 2 Level 2 (Intermediate) training courses and one Families Feeling Safe facilitator course with participants from a range of organisations from Hertfordshire and beyond. It’s a pleasure to work with people beginning or progressing their PBs knowledge and skills. Our trainers are also highly experienced PBs practitioners and keen to share more of this during our forthcoming training courses this term. Individual places on courses can be booked via email@example.com. If you are interested in whole school Inset or team training please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Update on Animations Project
The three animations are now complete through our work with Dr Hayley Davis, Childhood Studies at Leeds University. The animations have been developed in response to research about how children responded to situations happening at home such as Domestic Abuse, Sexual Abuse and also Bullying. The scenarios have been recreated in the animations and followed by Protective Behaviours themes. Initial pilot research with children, parents, carers and professionals has provided some positive feedback. Children have said: the messages are clear, I’m not alone, it’s ok to have feelings, there are people I can talk with. Children also wanted to know more. Next steps is working in collaboration with Leeds University and Behind Closed Doors (Prevention and Recovery Service) on resources that can be used alongside the animations and we’ll keep you up to date on progress!
