I have been working and supporting vulnerable families, children and young people for over 17 years.
I am a qualified Therapeutic Life Coach, Behaviour Specialist, Child Counsellor using The Arts, Crisis Intervention Worker with various other qualifications linked to my current role as a Manager supporting a Family Support Team.
My journey with Protective Behaviours started 7 years ago when I attended the Protective Behaviours foundation level training for CPD. I came away from that training day not only excited and wanting to know more about this resource but also wishing I had attended a parenting course for my own family; the tools were so accessible and simple – my parenting changed on that day!
I completed all the levels of training for Protective Behaviours and Families Feeling Safe and decided to apply for a facilitator’s job working with the Families Feeling Safe team; that was 5 years ago and I have never looked back.
I am passionate about the Protective Behaviours process and training resources, not only as a facilitator, but as a wife, parent, grandparent and professional. The tools and knowledge I gained from this course are used daily in my job as a Manager, within my own family unit and now with my granddaughter who is nearly 3. The Protective Behaviours training changed me as a mum, as an adult and as a Manager in so many ways, that is why I am so committed to my place within the Families Feeling Safe team, and still love running programmes for parents and carers and seeing them on the same journey I started over 7 years ago.
